Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players can play the game at 120 fps on the PlayStation 5, but only when a certain setting is activated.

The multiplayer betas for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are finally amongst us, and they’re already full of hackers, with the exclusive PlayStation beta concluding last weekend.

This weekend, starting today actually for early access consumers, players across PlayStation, Xbox and PC will be jumping into the online servers and going head-to-head on the battlefield, but the gameplay will look exceptionally better for PS5 owners if they mess about with their console’s settings.

The PlayStation 5, being the powerhouse it is, can play games at up to 120fps. This includes Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it can be accessed pretty easily.

All you have to do is make your way into the PS5 settings menu from the home screen, scroll down to the tab that says Screen and Video, look for 120Hz Output and switch it to Automatic.

Then the next time you boot up Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it should be in a glorious 120fps framerate, making your shootouts across the multiplayer maps that little bit more exciting and immersive, especially when you take advantage of the DualShock’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

That being said, this will only apply to TVs that can actually handle 120Hz, which are generally top-of-the-line models. If you’ve got one of those, great, enjoy your high framerates, if you don’t, 60fps isn’t bad either.

The final multiplayer beta for the next Modern Warfare starts today if you have early access, and it’ll open up for everybody else on 14 October. The beta will conclude on 16 October.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will launch on Xbox, PlayStation and PC consoles on 10 November.
