Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's beta already being swarmed by hackers

Some PlayStation users have been spotted using cheat hacks, after the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta kicked off this weekend.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s beta kicked off this weekend on PlayStation consoles, but it’s apparently already being swarmed and targeted by hackers and cheaters.

It’s arguably the most important time in the Call of Duty calendar, as we count down to this year’s major release. It doesn’t feel as if there’s quite as much hype for Modern Warfare III as we saw last year for Modern Warfare II, perhaps because the game offers a large dose of ‘more of the same’. That’s not to say that there’s not plenty for fans to dive into. The game’s remake of the classic ‘No Russian’ mission has been described as even more disturbing than the original. There’s also the brand new open-world Zombies mode to explore. The ongoing beta is the perfect way to sample the game, but it’s off to a rocky start.

Take a look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III in action below.

This weekend, PlayStation users were able to partake in the beta, with this opening up to all platforms from Thursday 12 October. If you’ve pre-ordered the game, you can join in on 12 and 13 October, with the beta then fully open to everyone - regardless of whether you’ve pre-ordered the game or not - from 14 to 16 October.

Unfortunately though, esports.net reports that the beta has already been disrupted by cheaters. Video clips of PlayStation users using wallhack and aimbot exploits have been spotted. It’s not a good sign when players have only had access to the game for a couple of days. It certainly doesn’t instill faith in those looking to dive into the full release on 10 November.

A beta is essentially a testing period, so hopefully devs can make adjustments to the Ricochet cheat engine to prevent this from happening when the game eventually releases in full next month. It’s thought that those who did cheat may own jailbroken consoles. It’s long been assumed that PC players are the most responsible for incidents of cheating, so it’ll be interesting to see how the beta progresses next weekend.
