PC gamers share brilliantly simple trick to get games to load faster

There's no need to be a wizard with your PC either.

Hear ye, hear ye - we're about to introduce you to one of the easiest tricks that will make your games noticeably faster in your gaming sessions, and it won't cost you a single penny.

That's music to your ears I expect as we are well and truly in the midst of the holidays. We've just caught that the Steam Winter Sale will start before the end of the week but don't stress out too much as you'll have until early January to scoop up games like Ready or Not, Two Point Campus, Persona 5 Royal, Naraka: Bladepoint and Sonic Frontiers.

That being said, gamers encounter a circular issue with their growing library of games with each sale. Their hardware. Of course, there are evolutions and upgrades to the cards, memory, power supply and more with every year. However, there's an effortlessly easy improvement that you can make to your PC gaming sessions, and it'll take you only a couple of minutes.

This is probably one of the most extra builds we've ever seen - check out this gaming PC housed inside a fish tank!

Reddit user Help_An_Irishman shared the wisdom on the PC gaming subreddit ready for those who will have gotten a cornucopia of new games over Christmas to take advantage of this trick. Using the PC Gaming Wiki, players can skip those images and videos that advertise the game's developer and publisher if they delete the files for these in the game's folder. Here's how easy it is to do it for Days Gone, for example.

All of this information is laid out cleanly and transparently on the wiki's entries so there's literally no need to be a technological genius to skip these lengthy images and videos. Sure, it won't make a massive amount of difference to the total startup time, but it will be noticeable.
