A Modder’s Added Lego Yoda To ‘Star Wars Battlefront 2’

Finally, the true Yoda lives.

While EA has been dealing with the fallout from the microtransactions in Star Wars Battlefront 2 and complaints about lack of campaign in its shooting galleries, the Lego Star Wars games have quietly continued being excellent. Now, thanks to a modder, it looks like the success of one franchise cam come to the aid of the other. You can now get the Lego version of Yoda running within Battlefront 2.

The mod by Dulana57 swaps out the official version of Yoda in Battlefront 2 in favour of the Lego version. It's purely a cosmetic change, so the Jedi master made of bricks all the same force abilities. You can see the little lad at work in the trailer below (or here if you're reading this on mobile):

If you want to bring more Lego into the Battlefront world, Kotaku spotted there's also a mod to replace the Battle Droids with plastic brick versions.

I didn't realise what I really wanted in life was a big battle Star Wars game where all the players are controlling Lego versions of the heroes and soldiers we know from the films. Just picture them exploding into bricks as you lay waste to their front lines.

The upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been criticised by some for not letting you decapitate or disarticulate your enemies with your lightsaber - but it would just be too violent for a modern Star Wars game. The way around that though, clearly, is to make all the characters out of Lego. Would anyone complain if young Cal Kestis literally knocked his enemies' blocks off?

Maybe this is the sort of thing we should start a petition for. Who's with me? We'll march on the offices of EA and DICE, demanding Lego brick overhauls for all their Star Wars games. And FIFA.
