Palworld already has a Pokémon mod, and it's wild

To no surprise, someone has already modded Pokémon into Palworld

Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, then you may have heard of a new game called Palworld, initially dubbed ‘Pokémon with guns’, but as we’ve learned, it’s much more than that.

Developed and published by the independent Pocket Pair, Palworld is a MMO, action-adventure survival game that has taken the internet by storm. To put the success of Palworld into context, during its opening weekend it garnered over 3 million players and sold one million copies, which is especially impressive considering that it’s also on Xbox Game Pass. The massive success of the MMO is why gamers of the blue brand would love to see Palworld on PlayStation 5 soon.

Check out the Palworld trailer below!

In our review of Palworld, we said: “It’s astonishing how much has been packed into Palworld given its Early Access status. Sure, the developers will probably expand the world, add in more Pals, and grow the story, too. But what we have here is already great, and features so many small details you’ll be amazed at what you discover. It’s a little rough around the edges in places, but the blueprint and starting product are more than enough to keep you going. With a dedicated community, Palworld can only get better. Is it a Pokemon beater? Probably not, but it deserves its place in the conversation."

Given the obvious comparisons with Pokémon, a modder has already turned Palworld into even more of a Pokémon game than it already was and the results are wild, to say the least. Other than the combat, if someone told you that Palworld is a new Pokémon game, you’d be forgiven for believing them even if for a few seconds.

The creator of the mod in question is Twitter user ToastedShoes. Sadly to little surprise, Nintendo has come after the modder and clips of his content have been removed. However, with this being the internet, it always finds a way to keep deleted content alive and well. That being said, don’t be surprised if the clip featured in this article is removed by the time you get to read it.

Palworld is out now on PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One as an early access title. It’s also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no extra cost.
