Nintendo is giving away some bonus free downloads for its Nintendo Switch family and they are available to claim right now.

It is quite easy for the Nintendo Switch to get quite overlooked these days. With all major releases heading to console or PC first and not to mention having to compete with the much-loved Steam Deck, it is easy for the Nintendo unit to collect dust.

However, Nintendo is seemingly doing what they can to prevent this by offering Nintendo Switch users the chance to get their hands on some free bonus items this month.

Available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, the free customisable icons can be redeemed this month in exchange for Platinum Points.

If you didn’t already know, Platinum Points are earned by completing missions related to the My Nintendo service via the My Nintendo website. Additionally, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can earn them simply by completing various missions too.

The icons up for grabs this June are inspired by Splatoon 3 and will rotate weekly with the first two available to download on 1 June. There are 6 to grab overall and feature all of your favourite Splatoon characters set across bright and colourful backgrounds.

This follows on from the previous available icons that were inspired by Paper Mario RPG and it appears as though Donkey Kong will be up next.

Starting on 2 July, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to access some Donkey Kong inspired icons in exactly the same way so don’t miss out on any of these if you wish to jazz up your Switch profile.
