‘New Tales From The Borderlands’ Announced, Releasing This Year

Time for more mayhem

New Tales from the Borderlands has been announced today at Gamescom 2022. A spiritual successor to Tales from the Borderlands, the interactive narrative game follows three new protagonists, Anu, Octavio and Fran, and takes place in the war-torn city of Promethea.

See the announcement trailer here:

The story pits these “lovable losers” against a planetary invasion, a vicious vault monster and a cold-hearted capitalist (that last part seems a bit too real), all while meeting a cast of interesting characters, including talking guns.

As the player, you’ll control all three characters throughout New Tales from the Borderlands, following the same mould as the original Telltale Games title. You’ll make decisions which affect the narrative, with each protagonist having different ideals and goals, all the while watching the on-screen characters react to whatever outcome you end up with.

Fans of the Borderlands series will note that the game’s location is a welcome departure from the norm. Promethea appears to be a large, bustling city, differing from the usually wide open spaces of the mainline series, and the D&D-inspired fantasy world of the Tiny Tina titles.

New Tales from the Borderlands is set to release October 21, 2022, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The standard edition will cost you £34.99, while the deluxe version is priced at £44.99.
