While the Mortal Kombat films have been far from polished perfection, their questionable messy qualities are surely the reason we love them. The games are hardly literary soul-searching meditations on the human condition, so why should the films be any different?

On top of the live action films, there are plenty of animated adaptations. I still have a copy of the 1995 cartoon tie-in to the first live-action movie - Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins - on VHS. The blending of animation with 90s CGI, dated even then (ancient now) will always be beautiful to me. An animated series, Defenders of the Realm, followed, and recently we've been treated to two kick-ass movies in a rebooted animated series - Mortal Kombat: Legends. Fortunately, it looks like a new one is on the horizon.

Check out the official restricted trailer for the live-action Mortal Kombat, released last year!

The first in the Mortal Kombat: Legends series was Scorpion's Revenge, released in 2020. It focused on the masked "get-over-here" fighter, as he took revenge on those who murdered his family. The second was last year's Battle of the Realms, which took it's story from events in Mortal Kombat II (among others).

Already, a third in the series seems to have surfaced in a few online listings - including the German version of Amazon. The film appears to be called Mortal Kombat: Snow Blind, no doubt because it stars the other masked enigma, Sub-Zero, who's quite partial to all things cold.

Twitter user tabmok99 shared the image to his followers, prompting much excitement in the comments.

The box art does look pretty exciting, with blind warrior Kenshi, in a power stance, in the foreground, and an old, grizzled, and maskless Sub Zero looking stoic in the background. I've already joined the bandwagon of getting pretty buzzed about this.
