Fortnite modders have somehow managed to create an entire MMORPG map as a playable area in the game.
While its primary gamemode is the online battle-royale Fortnite has been slowly converted into a space where players can express their creativity.
You’ll discover a wide variety of player-made maps and modes that’ll offer you a break from the battle-bus and some of these creations look nothing like Fortnite at first glance.
In what can only be described as an impressive feat one modder has managed to craft an entirely new world to explore, complete with towns, forests and islands.

The project is called Animora and its creator AugArt has shared some footage of the world in action. It’s seriously impressive.

While it won’t play like an MMO it certainly looks the part. It’s drawn the attention of several gamers pointing out similarities to Genshin Impact and while I haven’t played that game myself based on what I’ve seen I can kind of understand where they’re coming from.
AugArt has said that none of the assets from Genshin Impact were stolen to create Animora though, and that they purchased on Fab.
That’s something for the Genshin Impact developers to find and contest though, as for the time being Animora looks pretty good. The footage shared shows the player riding a wolf through its various environments, finding monsters along the way and discovering portals.
Portals are integral to the map apparently as when you first load in you’ll see most of it is obscured by clouds. As you explore more and unlock more portals more of the map will be uncovered and there are some areas that are still in development too.
With a bit more time this could make for a great Fortnite hub area for players that just want to hang out. Hell there are Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption roleplay servers, I’d be surprised if the same doesn’t exist for Fortnite too, in which case Animora would make a good backdrop for those kinds of players.

Fortnite is the biggest battle-royale game on the planet and I don’t think any game is going to steal its crown. That said, it's nice to see players getting more out of the game through its creative outlets.
