Fortnite Makes Two Simpsons Weapons Stronger, Unleash Fury

Some juicy buffs

The Fortnite x Simpsons collaboration has been one of the more exciting and notable in the game's recent history, with tons of players logging in to play the game as their favourite characters from the storied sitcom.

As with any of the time limited collaborations, the games need careful balancing and the developer has to play pretty constant attention to which weapons are performing far above or below expectations, to keep the game competitive, as well as varied and fun.

Now, two of those weapons are getting pretty impressive buffs that should turn them into some of the better options available right now.

Buffs for the Deodorant Applicator and Cobalt Slingshot

Over on Twitter/X, the official Fortnite Status page shared a post confirming buffs for both the Deodorant Applicator and Cobalt Slingshot.

"Deodorant Applicator's player damage has been slightly increased to bring it more in line with other SMGs in the loot pool (yes, we're calling it an SMG). Cobalt Slingshot's player damage has been increased quite a bit. We felt it was underperforming compared to other weapons in the current loot pool so we're increasing its power."

One of the more interesting things about that is the developer referring to the Applicator as an SMG, which it doesn't currently count as. One user, therefore, called for a change as a result in the responses, saying, "Okay, then next update make the Deodorant Applicator an SMG class weapon then or we riot on the streets of Springfield."

"Nice buffs for the Deodorant Applicator and Cobalt Shotgun finally bringing that SMG up to speed with the rest! Can't wait to test them in game," another added.

Others felt that it was all too little, too late, with bigger problems to be concerned with than simple balancing. "With only a week of the season left, why bother trying to balance anything now, won't make a difference to the number of blatant aim and wall hacks playing your game right now," one said.

The responses are also filled with a ton of people desperately asking the developer for buffs to their own favourite parts of the arsenal.

If you want to get involved and try out the collaboration for yourself, you don't have too long to do so. The Fortnite X Simpsons event is set to draw to a close on 29 November, so make sure you try out everything it has to offer before then.
