It is good news for fans of the Max Payne series as a new report has revealed the long-awaited remakes are finally in full production.

First released in 2001 and 2003 respectively, Max Payne and Max Payne 2 by Remedy Entertainment are widely considered as some of the best titles in the third-person shooter genre.

Following on from the success of its newest title, Alan Wake 2, Remedy seemingly has big plans for the future, even if that means revisiting the games that put it on the map.

Famous for its “bullet time” mechanic, Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remakes have now entered full production.

This news comes courtesy of a financial report published by Remedy which stated “Max Payne 1&2 remake entered the full production stage”, as of Q2 of 2024.

Not only that but the project is also fully approved and funded by GTA VI developer and publisher, Rockstar Games.

As a result, we can expect some amazing things from the highly requested remakes.

Not only that but Remedy also revealed that it is also entering the full production stage for its unnamed game codenamed “Condor”.

This is believed to be a multiplayer spinoff of Control, its action-adventure title released back in 2019.

On that same topic, Control 2 has also progressed to the production readiness stage so it appears as though it is all hands on deck at Remedy.

With the Max Payne remakes only just entering full production, we can expect them to arrive around late 2026/early 2027 if things go well.

However, release dates for Control 2 and Condor are yet to be announced.

For now, Remedy can still bask in the success of Alan Wake 2 which we loved here at GAMINGbible.

Our review read: “I’m glad to say that Alan Wake 2 is not only one of the best games of 2023 but it also surpasses the 2010 original in almost every way. It does everything you’d want from a sequel. Alan Wake 2 looks better, it plays better, it sounds better and it brings scares in abundance.”
