'Marvel's Avengers' Includes Risky BDSM Joke Between Cap And Mighty Thor

Marvel Avengers' latest update added Jane Foster, aka Mighty Thor to the game, along with a very questionable line of dialogue.

Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. Compared to the likes of Insomniac Games’ phenomenal Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales, the 2020 brawler fell short of greatness by quite a margin.

That’s not stopped the title from getting constant updates, though, and this week, we saw Jane Foster, aka Mighty Thor, join the fray as a new playable hero. Her first appearance as the Goddess of Thunder dates back to 2014 in the comic books - the blog update detailing her inclusion to the game describes her as “a doctor of many gifts driven by compassion for others”. However, it’s not her backstory which has been causing a stir online, but something very different.

Take a look at Mighty Thor in action in Marvel's Avengers below.

First spotted by Twitter user @_Acfstudios_, it turns out the latest update has thrown in a kinky joke, straight out of left field. An awkward interaction between Captain America and Mighty Thor reveals that Steve Rogers is blissfully unaware of all the thirsty nerds dwelling on the internet, but as for Jane? Not so much.

“I think some of the SHIELD agents are afraid of you,” Rogers says. “Me? I can’t imagine why,” replies Foster. “Well, they keep saying something about you… stepping on them?” Rogers continues, confused. “I, um… That, that… that’s not what that means, Rogers,” Foster laughs.

Hoo boy. Predictably, gamers are going feral: “She can step on me anytime,” tweeted @Earth_928_2099. “S**t maybe I need to buy this game now,” wrote @LukeODoherty6.

I’m not here to judge, but clearly, the devs knew what they were doing, and haven’t let certain comments about Mighty Thor go unnoticed. You’ve all been exposed. Go and think about what you’ve done.

In other news, earlier this week, it was reported that EA could be working on a new Marvel title of their own. What that title will actually be about is totally unknown, and the information comes from an insider rather than anywhere official, so do take it with a pinch of salt.
