The late Lance Reddick will return in Horizon Forbidden West DLC

The late Lance Reddick will return as Sylens in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC, it's been confirmed.

It’s been confirmed that Sylens, portrayed by the late Lance Reddick, will indeed return in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores which is set to release on 19 April.

Reddick tragically passed away on 17 March at the age of 60. Outside of his role as Sylens in Guerrilla GamesHorizon franchise, Reddick was also known for starring in The Wire, the John Wick film series, and Bungie’s Destiny franchise. In the days since Reddick’s death, Destiny 2 players gathered at The Tower to honour Reddick’s character Commander Zavala. John Wick star Keanu Reeves has also dedicated the upcoming fourth film to the actor. If you’ve seen Reddick’s latest performance as Charon, his next posthumous appearance will come in next month’s Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores.

Take a look at the trailer for Burning Shores below.

The PS5-exclusive DLC is nearing release and to celebrate, Guerrilla Games recently launched a new trailer. Burning Shores will see Aloy venture to the ruins of Los Angeles in the search of a ‘massive machine threat’, with the promise of new machines, new characters, and new adventures. The latest trailer confirms that Reddick will also be returning as Sylens. We hear the character say, “Aloy, a certain complication has come to my attention that we must discuss.” It’s this call that will begin the new mission.

By the sounds of Sylens’ message, it stands to reason that Aloy will reunite with him for a chat. Shortly after Reddick’s passing was announced, Guerrilla Games released a statement. It read, “Thank you Lance Reddick for everything you’ve brought to the character of Sylens, for sharing your infinite talent and wisdom with us, for your generous warmth and inimitable presence, and for your profound impact not just as part of our cast, but in our community. We were deeply honoured to work with you. You will be so incredibly missed.”

Horizons fans also gathered to remember the actor. Guerrilla have teased that they’ll be sharing more updates on Burning Shores ‘very soon.’
