The team behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has been cracking a few jokes about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s performance at The Game Awards, leading to some commenters online referring to them as “unprofessional, immature, and incredibly disrespectful”.
For once, this year’s Game Awards were relatively drama-free. No randomers stormed the stage, barely anyone had their speeches cut short, and Miss Piggy didn’t make any odd sexual advances towards Geoff Keighle– oh, wait, nevermind.
Honestly, there was only one real controversy this year, and it’s a bit of a nothingburger as far as drama goes. Some folks online think that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won too many awards.
That’s it. That’s the whole drama. The very popular and extremely lauded game won a bunch of awards, and some people are mad about that. What a timeline we live in, huh?

Now, I will admit that it was starting to feel more like the Clair Obscur Awards than the Game Awards towards the end, but some “gamers” online have been taking things slightly too personally.
Case in point: Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, the Communications Director at Warhorse Studios, made a tongue-in-cheek joke on Twitter about Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’s lack of awards at the event, stating, “We have officially been robbed!”
The official Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Twitter account also followed this up with a Tweet of the “this is fine” meme.

These are, quite clearly, jokes. Whatever you think of the dev team behind the game, it’s pretty obvious they’re just messing around here, and don’t actually believe that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 “robbed” them of anything.
Unfortunately, the internet is full of very stupid people, because many people in the comments to both posts have used this as an opportunity to dogpile on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, assumedly because they think that the devs at Warhorse Studios were being serious.
On the other side of things, some people on Twitter have called Warhorse Studios out for their Tweets, with one user stating, "This is unprofessional, immature, and incredibly disrespectful to your peers in the gaming industry who rightfully worked hard for their awards and success… Maybe if you even remotely tried being a 'team player' in the industry, the 'team' would recognize you more often."
In case you were curious about what the Warhorse devs' true thoughts about losing to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are, maybe take a peep at this follow-up Tweet from Tobias Stolz-Zwilling of him hanging out with the Sandfall Interactive team after the awards.
