The following article contains themes that some readers may find distressing.

Jennifer Lawrence said that she felt “gangbanged by the planet” after nude photos of her leaked online.

Back in 2014, Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence, along with at least 100 other people was the victim of an iCloud hack which resulted in private photos being leaked on the internet. The likes of Kate Upton, Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevigne and more were exposed to the scandal with Lawrence stating that the ordeal is going to “traumatise her for the rest of her life.”

Since that time, nine years have now passed and as reported by our friends at UNILAD, the Hunger Games and X-Men star has spoken about her traumatic experience. Lawrence said that following the leaked nudes, some reached out to her to join forces to sue Apple. However, rather than spending months upon months in court, she decided to focus on healing.

“A lot of women were affected, and a lot of them reached out to me about suing and none of that was gonna really bring me peace, none of that was gonna bring my nude body back to me and Nic, the person that they were intended for,” she explained on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast. “It wasn’t gonna bring any of that back. So I wasn’t interested in suing everybody; I was just interested in healing.”

She also told THR how the iCloud hacking incident made her feel. “When the hacking thing happened, it was so unbelievably violating that you can’t even put it into words.” Continually reliving the trauma, Lawrence explained, “It was happening minute-to-minute – it was almost like a ransom situation where they were releasing new ones every hour or so. And, I don’t know, I feel like I got gangbanged by the f**king planet.”

In 2016, 36-year-old hacker Ryan Collins from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, served an 18-month sentence in federal prison.
