breaking news

007 First Light is getting its first major DLC expansion today, adding a wealth of content that’ll make any James Bond fan swoon.
After launching in May earlier this year fans have been patiently waiting for 007 First Light to get additional content. Given IO Interactive regularly updated its Hitman games with post-launch support many were looking forward to new missions, unlockables and other goodies.
It seems like the devs have delivered as the new update has released Extended Operations, featuring all-new missions like Valhalla Protocol.
The latter is going to go down especially well with players as it brings back the gadget-stuffed supercar Bond gets to play with during the single-player campaign. When you finally get behind the wheel all you can really do is donuts in Q's garage as you barrage enemies with bullets and missiles, but the new update will finally let us take it on the open road for more vehicular mayhem.

Another swell addition is the long-awaited Photo Mode; which is a feature fans have been begging for since launch.
They’ll be able to test it out with New Game+, which was also added with the update alongside new outfits and weapons inspired by Bond’s long history. That First Class tuxedo and 12 gauge shotgun are speaking to us in particular...
The new update is officially out now for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC users, and future updates are already being teased…
What's the word on 007 First Light 2?
With a new update now out in the wild for 007 First Light, many will likely be left wondering what else the future holds for this new IP. 007 First Light was an all-new origin story for Bond, from his early training days to how he finally earned the number of 007.
The game's ending definitely implied that there's more story to tell, but it seems like these new DLC missions aren't holding themselves down to telling it. They're basically spin-off missions taking place during Bond's tenure as a 00, and whether they lead into a full-on sequel remains to be seen.
It ultimately depends on Amazon MGM Studios which took charge of the IP during 007 First Light's development. The studio will ultimately have the final say on whether IO Interactive can use the license again for a new game.
Chances are it probably will though. 007 First Light scored favourably with reviewers including GAMINGbible. In our review we said it was an "exquisite taste of slick spy action and blockbuster storytelling," awarding it a glorious 9/10 score.
It went down equally well with fans too, so the likelihood of it getting a sequel remain high.
In the meantime you can enjoy the new content and know that more good stuff is on the way, though hopefully we won't have to wait as long for the next content drop.
