Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, House of the Dragon has become the go-to water cooler topic of conversation on a Monday morning. The show has already been renewed for a second season after it became HBO’s most-watched series premiere of all time. In the US alone, House of the Dragon’s first episode had a whopping 10 million viewers. If you missed out on the premiere, you can now catch it for free. Ooo.

Check out the trailer for House of the Dragon below.

HBO has officially released the first episode on the HBO Max YouTube channel. The bad news is that whilst the episode is completely free, it’s only available to watch if you’re based in the US which isn’t very fun for the rest of us. According to GamesRadar, the episode did briefly become available for UK viewers but has since disappeared so we’ll be keeping an eye out.

If you’ve somehow missed what House of the Dragon is about, let me fill you in. Set 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, the series follows a young Rhaenyra Targaryen who is announced as heir over the controversial Daemon, inciting a family war.

In other House of the Dragon related news, the series’ showrunner and director Miguel Sapochnik is reportedly stepping down from the show with co-creator Ryan Condal continuing on as sole showrunner. It’s also believed that Game of Thrones’ Alan Taylor will join as executive producer so it looks like the series is in good hands.
