Hogwarts Legacy players say it'll be a miracle if Switch port releases without exploding

Hogwarts Legacy players are concerned that it'll be a miracle if the Nintendo Switch ports releases without exploding.

Hogwarts Legacy players say that it’ll be a miracle if the Nintendo Switch port ever releases without it exploding.

Hogwarts Legacy is already proving to be one of the Game of the Year contenders for 2023 since it was released for PC and new-gen consoles in February. However, the same cannot be said for last-gen and Nintendo Switch.

Only yesterday it was announced that Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is to be delayed, again. Initially, the last-gen version of the game was supposed to launch alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 10 February, before it was delayed to 4 April.

Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has now been pushed back further to 5 May 2023. So, what about the Nintendo Switch version of the game? For the time being, Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo’s hybrid console has maintained its most recent release date of 25 July 2023.

Naturally, fans are now growing concerned as to whether the Nintendo Switch would be able to handle a demanding open-world, action RPG such as Hogwarts Legacy. After all, the game is seemingly struggling to be ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, hence why it suffered more than one delay.

Hogwarts Legacy fans have been expressing their concerns on Reddit. “I don't see how the Switch will be able to run the game without blowing up, honestly,” said “iSavedtheGalaxy”.

“I can only imagine it’ll need to be seriously stripped down, perhaps even a smaller map and less enemy encounters,” exclaimed InfinteAbyss. “Switch version will need a miracle,” declares Enduro2600.

However, Redditor WaIterShite perhaps hit the nail on the head by saying what many of us are already thinking, that Nintendo simply needs to release an enhanced console to keep up with modern demands.

“Nintendo desperately needs to release a beefed-up Switch model. The Switch was underpowered on arrival, now six years later it’s almost embarrassingly dated compared to Sony and MS,” said the Reddit user.

They continued: “I know Nintendo has never been one to really focus on hardware but if they wanna keep up 3rd party-wise then the next Switch better be powerful as hell for a handheld console. Otherwise, we’ll hit another Wii U situation where most companies just don’t even try to port it anymore.”

For the time being, Hogwarts Legacy has a release date of 5 May 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and then 25 July for Nintendo Switch.
