Hogwarts Legacy player stumbles into hilarious new open-world discovery, months later

The Wizarding World universe is full of magic, wonder and mystery. Avalanche Studio’s Hogwarts Legacy is no exception.

Released in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy soon became one of the most popular games to launch this year, though interest in the action RPG may have dwindled in recent months. That being said, there’s no taking away from the fact that Hogwarts Legacy outsold the lifetime sales of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring in just five weeks.

Set during the 1890s, Hogwarts Legacy takes place centuries prior to the events of both Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter. In Hogwarts Legacy you play as a student that enters the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the fifth academic year, to be the surprise of tutors and fellow students.

Aside from the main story missions, there are plenty of side activities in Hogwarts Legacy as well as some fantastic random events, such as one particular room that is said to house an ‘amazing’ secret. However, today’s particular discovery is probably one of the most peculiar and hilarious ones yet.

A Hogwarts Legacy player discovered what looks to be a Highland Cow, just chilling in a house. “Not sure if this is his house or he just broke in before I did…,” said a be-moo-sed jes12345678 on Reddit.

If this was a discovery in just about any other game, this may be considered to be a glitch, but this is the Wizarding World we’re talking about here. Some Redditors have speculated that this Highland Cow could be an Animagus Wizard or Witch, who is able to transform into an animal. It is also possible that the player that shared the image on Reddit may have unknowingly used a transformation spell on an NPC.

Furthermore, it seems that random animals just chilling in homes of Hogwarts Legacy isn't perhaps as rare as we thought. Reddit user ultradespairthot shared an image of a sheep found in the home of Sebastian Sallow.

In related news, the Hogwarts Legacy developer’s next game was spotted in a recent job listing, and fans want the sequel to be set in London.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It is also currently scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch on 14 November 2023.
