Look alive, Hogwarts Legacy fans. Some free DLC will be landing later this week, although if you want to get it, you’ll have to act fast.

Hogwarts Legacy players have been begging for some hefty story DLC basically since launch. Although we all love a story-focused single-player game, they do have that slight problem of being finite, which can only ever be alleviated by adding more stuff.

Take a look at Hogwarts Legacy’s greatest mod featuring the legend that is PS1 Hagrid below.

If it’s story you’re after, this DLC admittedly probably isn’t what you were hoping for, but free content is free content, right? On 5 May at 5PM UK time, a Legacy Live! livestream will be taking place on Avalanche Software’s Twitch channel, and those who who tune in (with their Twitch account linked to their Warner Bros. Games account) will be able to earn the exclusive Merlin’s Cloak item in-game.

This cosmetic item was previously handed out via Twitch drops back when the game first released, but if you missed out, now’s the perfect time to add it to your save file. Previously, players had to stay tuned into the stream for at least 20 minutes in order to unlock the cloak, so presumably it’ll be the same this time around.

What’s more, Avalanche Software’s community manager, Chandler Wood, revealed on Twitter that some new Twitch drops will be available at the same time. He didn’t give any hints as to what these are, but teased that there’ll be more details soon.

Seemingly, new players on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to claim these items, too. Friday 5 May marks the game’s release day on previous-gen consoles, so assuming that they're able to get playing and logged onto Twitch in time, it seems that fresh-faced fans are able to unlock Merlin’s Cloak and whatever other new items there are straight away.

If you want to tune into the stream when it happens, you’ll be able to find it here.
