It’s just over two weeks to go until the release of Hogwarts Legacy, but if you act now, you can make sure that release day comes even sooner.

Hogwarts Legacy is surrounded by controversy. Many gamers are actively avoiding the title due to its connection to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who has been criticised for making harmful comments about the transgender community. Others are gearing up for release day, which varies significantly from platform to platform - it’ll first be arriving on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 10 February.

Simon Pegg is voicing headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in the game - meet his character below.

While many fans have probably already bought their preorders at this point, if you’re yet to do so, there’s currently some significant discounts to be had on the PC versions. As GameSpot reports, over on Green Man Gaming, you can buy the Standard Edition of the game for £42.49 ($51 in the US), down from the £49.99/$59.99 recommended retail price.

Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition is currently £50.39 ($58.79) - a significant discount from the £59.99/$69.99 retail price. With the Deluxe Edition, players will unlock the exclusive Thestral Mount, and will get access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena, along with the Dark Arts Cosmetic Set and Dark Arts Garrison Hat. If you’ve set your heart on mastering the Dark Arts and using all the Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy, the Battle Arena is the place to do so - it’s apparently the only area in the game where you can use them as much as you want.

However, the main draw of the Deluxe Edition is the fact that players who buy it will be given 72-hour early access to the game. That means that you’ll be able to play it from 7 February and get a head start on your wizarding world adventure. There’s no doubt that the hardcore fans (and those wanting to avoid spoilers at all costs) will want to get in on this.
