Hogwarts Legacy Azkaban DLC is the perfect next step, fans agree

Take us to Azkaban, it would be great, apparently.

Hogwarts Legacy released earlier in the year allowing fans of Harry Potter to live their best Wizarding World life.

Set in the 1890s, years prior to the events of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, as well as of course Harry Potter: and The Philosopher’s Stone, Hogwarts Legacy sees you assume the role of a student entering the academic life at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the fifth year, to the surprise of students and tutors alike.

Whether it’s taking part in the compelling story campaign, partaking in its many side activities or wandering the halls of Hogwarts and beyond, it is a joy to behold. However, at the time of writing, it’s been six months since the initial launch of Hogwarts Legacy on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and fans are now looking at developers Avalanche Software to breathe new life into the game with DLC.

Fans on Reddit have been discussing what they’d like to see next in Hogwarts Legacy. “I would love a DLC story expansion with Azkaban as the central plotline,” said Redditor Dis7urbios, opening up the discussion on the thread. As a heads-up, there are some spoilers in the thread, so consider this a warning.

“They could introduce Expecto Patronum as a new spell and Dementors as a new type of enemy while having a more 'dark' storyline around Azkaban,” they continued. “It would have a lot of storyline potential while introducing new stuff to the game such as the Ministry of Magic, Azkaban, Aurors from that age, possibly some new dark threat, etc.”

“Yeah, that would be awesome. I would also love an explorable Gringotts packed full of rollercoasters taking you from one area to the next,” replied ogojo. “Yeah, that could be cool. Five points to Slytherin,” exclaimed Chaplain92.

In related news, fans hope to see romance options in Hogwarts Legacy 2, and not even the mighty Baldur’s Gate 3 could take the crown from Avalanche Software’s action RPG.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Following a series of delays, it is also currently scheduled to be released on Nintendo Switch on 14 November 2023.
