The upcoming release of the Harry Potter HBO series is one of the more highly anticipated, even if we do have to wait until at least 2027 to see it.
The full remake is set to cover one book with each series, promising to be as faithful as possible to the source material whilst at the same time attempting to advance what we have already enjoyed with the films.
Even then, there are some major concerns. Specifically, you could be forgiven for fearing that the second season of the show would take another 2 or 3 years to arrive as so many have done in recent memory.
Fortunately, it seems like that may not be the case if recent comments from the CEO of HBO are to be believed (which we are inclined to do given his position at the company)

As first reported by Variety, HBO's head honcho Casey Bloys shared his thoughts on the potential long gap between seasons before trying to allay some of fan's fears about the show.

Harry Potter Writers are Already Working on Season 2
Over on Twitter/X, Variety shared an excerpt from their conversation with Bloys, where the CEO revealed that work on Season 2 of the show is well underway, despite the fact that Season 1 has only just started filming.

Bloys says: "They’re still shooting Season 1, obviously. They’re writing Season 2.
"So the plan is to try and get it — I don’t know if it’s going to be like, stop shooting Season 1 on Friday and start Season 2 on Monday.
"There will be a break in there. But we’re going to do whatever we can to not have a huge gap, for the kids, obviously, but also for viewers.
"We’re trying not to have massive gaps. It is a big show. Lots of special effects, obviously, a massive operation.

"But we’re going to do what we can, for the kids ages, but also for viewers as well.”
The practicalities around filming with children that are supposed to age one year with each passing season are obvious.
The films only managed to finish when Daniel Radcliffe turned 21, stretching the limits of believability around his age.
With the show so keen to avoid similar issues, it looks like we won't have to wait too long between seasons, and that's a very exciting thing if you're a fan.
