Halo TV Series Trailer Has Left Fans Split On Their Feelings

So, in case you missed it, a brand new trailer for the upcoming Halo TV adaptation just dropped, giving us not only that all-important release date (which is 24 March, by the way), but also a longer look at what we can expect from the series. And it’s looking interesting, to say the least.

Just going by certain things that have been said in the trailer, it’s obvious that this isn’t just going to be following the story we know and love from the first game in the series. In fact, it seems that there’s a mix of all sorts of plot points from the different games happening here. Also, there’s no actual Halo music? Sacrilege.

As you’d imagine, fans are quite divided on whether or not it’s actually going to be any good. Over on Reddit, they’ve been arguing, sorry, discussing their views: “I’m cautiously optimistic. Some of it looks awesome, some [of it] doesn't, but it'll come down to writing and performances a lot more than just effects quality for me,” said NobilisUltima.

It would seem that the optimistic ones are in the minority though, with most users in the thread expressing their disappointment: “They don't understand Halo. The music and atmosphere is a major part of what made the original games as good as they were. Clearly, this is not understood by the people making the show,” wrote Th3HedonismBot. “My biggest concern with this is that with key narrative points changing, the music being left out, it just doesn't seem like it is being produced by people who are fans of the games, even though some of the action pieces portrayed looked great,” added TheLostColonist.

Regardless of how it actually turns out, the series will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in March, starring Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey, and Jen Taylor as Cortana. Yes, they got Cortana’s actual voice actor from the games, even if she isn’t blue anymore. So that’s something.
