Halo: Spartan Survivors is an unexpected new release that’s wowing fans

An absolute win for Halo fans

Halo fans are going to be waiting a long time before the next proper game comes out, whether it be Halo 7 or a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved.

In the meantime, however, there are plenty of other games out there to enjoy, and while you could jump back into the multiplayer of Halo: Infinite, consider checking out this awesome fan game first.

It’s called Spartan Survivors, and if you’ve played Vampire Survivors, you’ll understand how it works straight away.

Playing as a little version of Master Chief, you’ll fend off waves of Covenant forces until you can’t handle any more; it’s as simple as that.

Given that it’s a fan-made game you’d expect Halo Studios or Xbox to have a problem with it being made public, but on the contrary; Halo Studios has actually supported the game and reached out to its creator.

A message from Halo Studios was shared to Reddit, with a representative saying they’ve loved to see the game’s development and are excited to see more as time goes on. You never know, maybe one day it’ll get officially released via some sort of partnership, that’d be the dream.

It kind of reminds me of a cancelled Halo Mega Bloks game that was shown off several years ago. Unfortunately, it never came to fruition but the idea was solid and it’d be good to see it revisited one day.

As for the actual future of the Halo series, all we know about the next game is it’ll utilise Unreal Engine 5.

There are rumours a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved is in the works but it’s also believed the next official Halo game will be a reboot for the franchise.

Only time will tell, but personally I’m hoping Halo Studios takes its sweet time with the next game. It needs to perfect.
