GTA VI fans are still heartbroken over its most recent delay, because otherwise, we could be playing it right now.
Every day, Grand Theft Auto fans are eagerly waiting for news on when the third trailer for GTA VI will arrive, as well as when we can start placing our pre-orders, and with a bit of luck, claim a snazzy collector’s edition.
However, Rockstar Games has given no official confirmation when the third GTA VI trailer and pre-orders will go live. Well, at least not yet. That being said, knowing Rockstar Games, it’ll probably drop the third trailer like an RKO out of nowhere on a random midweek afternoon.
At the time of writing, GTA VI has been delayed twice. Originally, it had a tentative Fall 2025 window, then it was delayed following its 26 May 2026 date. Then it was delayed for a second time, pushing it back to November this year.
Fans will be hoping that GTA VI suffers no further delay, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility that it might happen for a third time. After all, Rockstar Games is certainly not afraid to push something back for the betterment of the game. We’ve not only seen it with GTA but also Red Dead Redemption 2.

With that in mind, it’s dawned upon gamers that if GTA VI weren't delayed for a second time, we’d be playing it next week. “We would’ve been one week away,” exclaimed Redditor ReddVevyy.
“On the one hand, it's sad that it won't happen on 26 May, but on the other hand, GTA VI will most likely be with us for about 10 years, and these few extra months will be nothing when the game is released, but will definitely affect the final result,” replied stanscreamdnb.
“Could’ve also been playing for a year already,” added witness_smile, referring back to the potential first release window before the original delay.
“They're going to shadow drop the entire game on May 26, guys. I'm an insider. I know these things. Trust me, bro,” joked BarefootHerbal1995.
“Actually, I'm happy because the delay gives me ample time to buy an Xbox to play it,” said dark_fesse.
As of right now, Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC port hasn't been announced yet. Fingers crossed, Rockstar Games won’t do the unthinkable, right?
