We’re hours away from 2026, at least here in the United Kingdom, which means we’ll soon be in the same year as Grand Theft Auto VI’s launch window.
That’s banking on the hope that it isn’t delayed again, of course, which remains a possibility given the recent rumours and murmurings about the inner workings of Rockstar Games.
Delays aside, we're hopeful that GTA VI will be worth the wait, as Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed and turned out fine, aside from a few expected launch day bugs.
While we wait, it’s easy to go back and rewatch the two trailers we have for the game, and see if we can spot any secrets or Easter Eggs that haven’t been noticed yet.

Others have been doing the same, and it was ScreenRant that found a thread where Grand Theft Auto fans discovered potential proof of the game’s first-person mode.
First-Person Rockstar Games
First-person mode was introduced in the next-gen update for GTA V, and when I say next-gen, I mean the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. That’s how old GTA V is nowadays.
It felt revolutionary at the time albeit a little bit janky, so it’s no wonder Rockstar Games also included it in Red Dead Redemption 2.
With that in mind, the mode being featured in GTA VI feels like a given, but if you needed further proof, Reddit user drgsouth is adamant that two clips from the game’s first trailer are teasing first-person gameplay.
The clips themselves are just the first-person perspective of cruising around the city in a car, and given GTA VI’s life-like graphics, first-person might be the definitive way to play. It could even give Cyberpunk 2077 a run for its money.

At the time of writing, Rockstar Games hasn’t said anything about first-person mode being present in GTA VI, but we’re pretty sure it’s in there.
Like we said before, Red Dead Redemption 2 had first-person at launch, so it seems only natural that the next Grand Theft Auto game would have it as standard too, and more optimised than GTA V’s.
If it’s not there at launch, it’ll at least be patched in through a post-launch update, that much seems certain.
GTA VI is currently set to launch on 19 November 2026, and we’re collectively crossing all of our fingers in the hope that Rockstar Games doesn’t delay it again; we need this game.
