With the heavy news that GTA VI is delayed to November 2026, pushing the game back by several months, it leaves the door open for a rival open-world adventure to steal away your time.
Ananta isn’t the real life spoof that Rockstar Games would develop, but it might scratch the itch fans have after such a long wait for GTA VI.
The biggest stand out here is that Ananta is an anime adventure, styled after comparable games, Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail.
Coming soon from NetEase, players will be swinging through the city, hurtling through traffic, and stopping disaster is a quasi-superhero escapade that doesn’t infringe on copyright, no sir.

We’ve previously taken a glance at this upcoming action game, and likened it to Marvel’s Spider-Man on PlayStation and PC, because while the game shows its stripes as a GTA clone, it’s dabbling in a more fantastical approach.
One quick look at the gameplay trailer should tell you everything you need to know, and it certainly set tongues wagging when it first debuted, with folks clamouring for more.
So far, there has been no firm release date set, but we do know this one will be winging its way to PlayStation, PC, and mobile platforms.
We’ve got a cast of adorable characters at our fingertips - Taffy, Bansy, Alan, Mechanika, Dila, Ringo, Aileen, and Lykaia - each of them struggling with their memories, which players have to piece together.
They’re a ragtag bunch who get about the city in various ways, showcasing that traversal is the big ticket sales point with Ananta.
The story sounds a bit vague, but each of these stars is part of a supernatural taskforce hunting down paranormal events.
Of course, there will be a big bad enemy to face off against, once the trials of every day life and discovering key parts of each character's history are solved.
Combat isn’t as straight forward as GTA, where you point the gun and shoot, here you’ll be part of a four-person team, using tactics to win the day.
These moments of action will take you away from the exploration of a vast city, and bring even more chaos to proceedings.
You’d best keep an eye out for the release date - we know it’s coming next year, and hopefully in time to keep us busy until November.
