This upcoming free-to-play game coming to Steam is a bit of an odd one, but it’s certainly one for the Breaking Bad fans in here to get invested in while we wait for GTA 6.

Drug Schedule is an upcoming game for Steam by CrimsonRoute Games that puts you in the role of a drug kingpin who is starting their own empire.

I’m sure a game like this will be compared to titles like Schedule 1, which saw a decent success when it launched on Steam last year.

According to its developers, Drug Schedule (which also bears the title Kingpin Simulator), you’re “not just playing the game. You are the game.”

The blurb adds that you “start with nothing, an empty room, a burner phone, and a head full of ambition. Cook your first batch, sell on the streets, and claw your way up the criminal food chain.”

From here it gets quite sketchy. You can make clean meds or dirty drugs, using the game’s deep crafting system and your own chemical recipes to create them. You’re able to design high-demand designer substances, or flood the market with cheap junk.

As you expand, you hire dealers, set up fronts, and establish territory in the surrounding area. Then, you’ll need to launder money through clubs, clinics, or crooked businesses. Yep, that's the GTA 6 itch scratched for now.

Drug Schedule Is, Erm, Scheduled For Release In 2026

But be warned that growing your empire results in more heat you’ll attract. So in addition to running your empire, you’ll also need to make peace with corrupt cops, rival gangs, snitches, and undercover agents who all want a slice of the pie.

Covering your tracks and having an escape plan is crucial here if you want to come out on top if you want to run a successful business.

CrimsonRoute Games says that Drug Schedule also doesn’t have to be played alone, as you can also build your drug empire with a crew of up to three other players, where you share labs, split profits, or double cross them when you want to take it all.

Given the popularity of last year’s Schedule 1, which hit an all-time high concurrent player count of 459,075 players nine months ago, and currently has around 12,000 players at the time of writing, Drug Schedule should find itself a similar success if it can get off the ground.

However, as of right now the game doesn’t have a trailer, nor does its developer have any major social media presence. So, all we have to go off at the moment are some screenshots and a store page.

CrimsonRoute says Drug Schedule will be coming in 2026, and it’ll also be a free to play title.
