A GTA 6 release date update has been slammed by fans, who are growing ever more impatient by the day.
We’re still ten months away from the launch week of Grand Theft Auto 6, and it’s pretty clear we’re all getting a little more agitated by the wait.
No matter what happens, the rotation of the earth and the speed of time itself isn’t going to change, so we’re all just going to have to be patient and wait for May 2026 to roll around.
A new release date update from the X (formerly Twitter) account GTA 6 Countdown is being roasted by impatient fans, and I think we all need to go and touch grass.

“21% complete until GTA 6 release date. 307 days remaining,” the account posted yesterday, 23rd July.
GTA 6 Countdown regularly posts information about GTA 6, including how long is left until launch, as well as new leaks and information regarding the upcoming Rockstar Games release.
It’s not affiliated with Rockstar, but is a good account to keep an eye on if you want to read up on GTA 6 rumours and leaks. Obviously, be sure to take all that information with a grain of salt.
“Too far away bro,” wrote one reply underneath the post.
“Still got a long way to go,” another posted.
Another account posted a meme which reads: “Trying my hardest to forget about GTA 6 so time can go faster.”
GTA 6 is due for release on 26th May, 2026, so just over ten months away. Pre-orders should come much sooner, we’d reckon around the holiday period.
Still, ten months isn’t a huge wait. You could spend that time learning a new skill, reading a few books, or maybe binge watching the entire series’ run of Doctor Who. That’s what I’ll be doing, anyway.
