It’s widely believed that Grand Theft Auto VI’s pre-orders could open any day now, accompanied by the launch of the game’s third trailer.
We’re roughly six months away from GTA VI’s planned launch on 19 November with Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick having confirmed that marketing will kick off soon.
In fact, it's arguably already underway with PlayStation issuing emails to PS4 users advising them to upgrade to a PS5 if they want to play GTA VI.
Then there’s the fact that Rockstar Games has begun interacting with fans again on social media, plus Take-Two is holding its next earnings call on 21 May - and that usually signals impending news.

Any day between now and 21 May is a strong contender for something to happen - and as soon as official news does land, we’ll bring that to you.
For now though, it’s a late-stage leak that’s set the internet alight as GTA VI’s pricing may finally have been confirmed.
GTA VI’s price point has been a major point of contention with industry analysts claiming that a game of this scale and calibre could justifiably charge $80 to $100 for its base edition.
Zelnick has in recent weeks made several assurances to the media that GTA VI will be priced with value in mind and now, according to one UK retail worker, it looks to be in line with industry standards.
Twitter/X account rockstationonx recently shared a comment on one of their posts from a supposed UK-based retail worker who claimed to have seen intel about GTA VI.
“I work at a large UK game retailer (not GAME), and I just had the press pack through,” they said.
“Pre-orders open May 12th, and the price is £69.99. Looks like only one version so far.”
They continued, “Should be $69.99 /Euros. No bundles for PS5 yet, but I think Sony will send something later on this year.”
Of course, this must be taken with a hefty pinch of salt as while it could be true, this is also the perfect time for clout chasers to surface with unfounded claims.
At the moment, £69.99 is the standard for major AAA releases, which does indeed usually equate to $69.99 despite those values not actually being comparable.
If this claim is true, it’s a sigh of relief for all of those who thought Rockstar Games might push their luck knowing everyone would pay whatever price was announced.

While the supposed leaker has claimed that pre-orders go live today, Rockstar Games has already posted about Red Dead Online on Chinese social media BiliBili with those posts usually signalling what’s to come on Twitter.
It’s for that reason that I’m more dubious about whether pre-order news truly is landing today but I suppose we’ll know for certain whether this claim is true or not by the time the day is done.
GTA VI remains, for now, a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S exclusive.
It will likely come to PC eventually but with a recent Rockstar Games leak having proven that the PC GTA playerbase is the smallest, the studio likely won’t be in too much of a rush to get it out of the door.
