The GTA VI announcement has been leaked ahead of a GTA Online milestone and it could happen sooner than we think.

It’s another day, which means we have more GTA VI rumours. We’ve known for quite some time that Rockstar Games is currently working on GTA VI, but we quite literally have no further details. Well, at least officially.

However, despite Rockstar Games’ best attempts to keep its cards close to its chest, that hasn't stopped numerous leaks and gossip from making the internet rounds.

As reported by Dexerto, the latest Grand Theft Auto VI rumour claims that an announcement will be made on the 10th anniversary of GTA Online, which would take place this summer. GTA Online initially launched on 1 October 2013.

The latest rumours are courtesy of prominent Rockstar Games leaker, Tez2 who made the claim in a post on GTA Forums.

“I feel like the next time we could receive some news or an update is around June or July. Likely the latter,” said Tez2. “If Rockstar were to tease anything GTA VI related within GTA Online around September or October, it has to be included with the Summer update. And Rockstar is very aware of us dataminers.”

So what could this update be that is rumoured to take place in June or July? Well, if it's an update, it’s likely that it could be an announcement telling us when the GTA VI reveal will be taking place. Which could mean that we’ll finally see GTA officially in September or October.

What’s more, Tez2 believes that details of the GTA VI announcement could be made during a special ‘Treasure Hunt’ event in GTA Online. This is possible given the fact that Rockstar Games did something similar for Red Dead Redemption 2 in GTA Online a few years back.

That all being said, it’s worth keeping in mind that rumours and speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt, until proven otherwise.

In other related Tez2 gossip, it is rumoured that the release of GTA VI could arrive sooner than expected, but it could be at the expense of cut content later being sold as DLC.
