Big launch plans for Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated GTA VI have been confirmed.

We’ve all been waiting years for the arrival of the next entry in Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series, when GTA VI finally arrives next year. That’s assuming it suffers no further delay.

Following months of rumours and infamous gameplay leaks, Rockstar Games revealed the first GTA VI trailer in December 2023 with a tentative late 2025 launch window.

However, fans would have to wait well over a year for the second GTA VI trailer, and not only that, but it suffered a delay, pushing the game back into the next year.

Despite a big delay, the hype for GTA VI has no intention of slowing down, and as we edge closer to its release, we can expect Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, to make a huge marketing push in the coming months.

As reported by Dexerto, one such marketing push will involve a collaboration with the streaming platform, Twitch.

When talking to MeinMMO, the chief monetisation officer at Twitch, Mike Minton said that the streaming platform will be supporting Rockstar Games “from the start” and it will “likely be the biggest game of our lives.”

“Almost every gaming publisher and game developer in the world uses Twitch to market their games. In many cases, they have also learned to develop their games on Twitch,” he continued.

More specifically, the collaboration with Twitch will focus on the single-player campaign of GTA VI, rather than the yet-to-be-revealed new iteration of GTA Online.

“There will probably be a cycle around the online multiplayer at some point later, which will be an even more important segment in the life cycle of this game on Twitch,” added Minton. “That’s where the magic begins to happen.”

What’s more, Mike Minton also hinted that Twitch may have a focus on gamers who love to role-play in the world of GTA Online, following the launch of GTA VI.

“Creators have driven stories and taken on roles. That became extremely popular and revitalised GTA,” he explained. “That’s a really great example of the magic of Twitch communities forming around a story and interaction with the audience.”

“I can’t say anything specific about that, but we are definitely having active discussions about how this game can become a lasting success,” he concluded.

At the time of writing, GTA VI is scheduled to be released on 26 May 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Its PC release hasn't been announced yet.
