GTA 6 fans convinced Rockstar 'trolling' them with new announcement

Whoever is in charge of Rockstar's Twitter account is probably laughing so hard right now

Another day, another absolutely ridiculous Grand Theft Auto VI theory. This time though, Rockstar Games fans think that the developer is actively making fun of them following the release of a promo image.

Right, fine, let’s break this down. On Tuesday, the official Rockstar Games Twitter account posted this image to promote the release of a new Christmas-themed event, A Merry Call to Arms, in Red Dead Redemption II.

Notice anything strange or familiar about said image? If your answer to that question was “No?” then congratulations, you are a normal human being.

If your brain has been absolutely cooked by the wild speculation found on the r/GTA6 subreddit though, you might have instead shot up from your seat like the Manchurian candidate instead.

That is because, as one user on the subreddit pointed out, the promo image from Red Dead Redemption II sort of, kind of, but not really, looks like one found in the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.

So in both images, there’s a woman on the left holding a gun and there’s a man on the right holding a gun.

Yeah, that’s it. That’s the whole theory.

On the plus side, at least the folks in the thread seem to find it as ridiculous as everyone else does.

“A MAN AND A WOMAN HAVE NEVER STOOD SHOULDER TO SHOULDER BEFORE GTA VI!” replied user atomicitalian.

“We GTA fans need to find Christ,” commented user AngelMunozDR.

The poster of the thread also seems to think that because Rockstar “uploaded this at 17:17” it could also tie into another theory, except, uh… they didn’t upload it at 17:17. They uploaded it at 17:14. Incredible detective work.

At this point I just want Rockstar to release the second trailer for GTA VI so I can watch the r/GTA6 subreddit have a meltdown.
