Gamescom Opening Night Live will soon be upon us, and we're expecting several hours of game announcements and trailers to be dropped.

Held every year from the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Opening Night Live is hosted by presenter Geoff Keighley and features two hours of non-stop trailers, announcements, and world premieres for upcoming games.

Last year, we saw announcements and premieres for games like Hollow Knight Silksong, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and Valor Mortis, the first-person soulslike that's about Napoleon.

This year's showcase is expected to be no different, with the usual expectations of upcoming game premieres and trailers set to take place at the end of August.

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 will be held at 7PM BST (that's 8PM CEST local time), but expect there to be pre-shows and other things to look forward to throughout the day across many major media channels.

Your favourite streamer or content creator may also be streaming the showcase, and they may have their own pre-show discussing the showcase and what they expect from it.

The show is expected to last for around two hours, and will be pretty much back-to-back trailers and announcements. It's expected to finish at 9PM BST, but may also run over slightly depending on timings.

However, be aware that there aren't really any breaks during Opening Night Live, as it's all just adverts and trailers for new and unreleased games, so be sure to factor in bathroom time when planning your evening.
