And he's an absolute monster.

As we've watched more and more iterations of the comic book characters in film and TV, I think we've all had to admit how important aesthetics are to the final product. You ask anyone within the Marvel fandom to point out which Spider-Man suit belongs to Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, or Tobey Maguire and they'd probably give you the correct answers as they reflect not only the era the film came out in, but the personality and mood of their interpretations.

And now, we're excited to see our first proper look at comic book villain Carnage from the upcoming Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage as a new trailer shows him off in all his terrible glory.

Here is the new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage...

We'd already seen a little of Carnage as the movie has begun hitting Chinese theatres. As Comicbook reports, a statue appeared in China showing us our first clear look at what Carnage will look like as he battles against Tom Hardy's Venom.

The Venom Site on Twitter managed to secure some clear pictures that have appeared from Chinese where the film will be shown in IMAX theatres. Venom and Carnage face each other ready for battle, and Carnage looks remarkably intimidating for a piece of plastic. While Venom's form is relatively smooth, Carnage is covered in grotesque offshoots of red fleshy tendons. His smile extends all the way up to the corners of his eyes exposing hundreds of teeth.

We met Carnage's host briefly in Venom back in 2018. Played by Woody Harrelson, Cletus Kasady is already in prison at the end of the film as he promises "carnage" once he gets out. He'll be engaged with some sort of love story with Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison/Shriek throughout the film.

Though Venom: Let There Be Carnage was set to release in October 2020, the release was heavily delayed by the pandemic so you can catch the film in theatres from September 15 in the UK and September 24 in the US.
