A brand-new, very exciting-looking trailer was shown off for the forthcoming Lego Star Wars game, The Skywalker Saga, during last night's Gamescom Opening Night: Live stream (which we covered extensively - have a look at recent posts for further news).
The trailer shows off the famous brick-brand's inimitable takes on Star Wars movies one to nine, from The Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker, and is - as expected - a very chuckle-worthy watch. Give it your eyes, below.
Let's go through a little checklist, shall we? Pod racing: check. Luke making things float: check. Anakin looking entirely emo: check. Yoda clucking on about some mystical wisdom or other: check. X-wing run through the Death Star trench: check. Playable Yaddle: check, actually. Jokes: check.
Suffice to say, we're in. But the trailer also confirms that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has slipped from a 2020 release into spring 2021. Which is fine, I guess, because it looks super - and it also means that publishers Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have been able to say yes, it'll also release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as current-gen platforms (Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC).
Unlike previous Lego Star Wars games, players will be able to tackle the order of the movies any way they wish to in The Skywalker Saga. Every episode will contain five missions, adding up to 45 levels in total. It's also promising to include around 500 characters, a whole lot of which will be playable.
