Tom Holland Doesn’t Sound Too Happy With Some Of His ‘Uncharted’ Performance

Honestly, that sounds like something Drake would do too

The Uncharted series from Naughty Dog was banger after banger, to be honest. Some of the game were better than others but Nathan Drake's story came to an end in the fantastic Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Although we did get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a spin-off from the main games, fans have missed the handsome devil that is Drake since the series end, so many are looking forward to Hollywood's interpretation of Naughty Dog's games.

After many directors, many actors being rumoured for the roll, and a long production process, Tom Holland has filmed his part as Drake and the film is now in post-production. However, Holland in a recent interview with GQ has talked about his performance, and honestly, he doesn't sound one hundred percent thrilled with it so far.

The long conversation with the star goes into his performances in Cherry and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Spider-Man - but when it comes to talking about his Uncharted performance, he calls some of his approach a "mistake". He spent too much time thinking about how good he looked rather than on hitting his marks.

The full quote from the GQ interview says, "As soon as you start worrying about 'Do I look good in this shot?' acting becomes something other than playing a character. I think there are elements of my performance in Uncharted where I kind of fell under that spell of being 'I want to look good now. I want this to be my cool moment.' I had to play this very tough, very stoic guy - basically, be Mark Wahlberg. My character is supposed to be a fucking action hero in this moment!

"Look, I haven't seen it, so I don't know if I succeeded in that. But it was an important lesson learned, because, at times, it was less about land a mark and go through this scene and more about land a mark, stand like this and see my bulging biceps... It was a mistake and is something that I will probably never do again."

Well, that doesn't mean his performance is bad by any means. You can look great in a performance and still act well - it's just a case of if Holland thinks he pulled Drake off when the movie lands. We hope that when it's all put together Holland manages to show off his muscles and his acting skills all at once.
