Paul Soles, the original voice of Spider-Man in the classic 1960's cartoon has passed away. He was 90 years old. His manager Angela Wright confirmed the news on Facebook late last night.
Spider-Man ran for 52 episodes from 1967 to 1970. It was the show that gave the world countless Spider-Man memes (you know the ones), as well as the iconic theme tune that you're probably humming in your head right now. Soles played Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the show's entire three-season run. Soles was also the voice of Hermey in the stop motion Christmas classic Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, and hosted a late-night 70s talk show called Canada After Dark.
"Paul Soles was truly a Canadian treasure," Wright wrote in a post on social media. "He lived a long life with so many adventures along the way. RIP."
