The long-rumoured Batman game from Warner Bros. Montreal is finally set to be unveiled during the DC FanDome event in August. But despite having been teased out for the better part of two years, we still don't know anything about it. Not officially, anyway.

There have been whispers about what we can expect, but nothing concrete. Previous rumours suggested that the game will feature the shadowy organisation known as The Court Of Owls as its primary antagonists. It's also believed that the game will feature multiple playable characters beyond Batman himself. A more recent report pointed to a leaked website domain, which suggests the game will be called Gotham Knights.

The latest Batman rumour not only corroborates most of what we'd previously heard, but also throws a few new details into the mix. KC Walsh, editor-in-chief of Geek WorldWide took to Twitter to claim that he's heard details on WB. Montreal's Batman game from someone who's been involved with development since the beginning.

According to Walsh, the game will involve multiple factions that are somehow tied into a Nemesis system not unlike the one seen in Shadow Of Mordor. The idea of separate factions would certainly be supported by WB. Montreal itself, which shared a series of emblems for various Gotham institutions - including the GCPD - as part of its teasers for the game.

Walsh also claims, as many others have, that The Court Of Owls are the big bad. I'll be honest, this part of the game was pretty much confirmed when comic book writer and Court Of Owls creator Scott Snyder tweeted something he shouldn't have over a year ago now.

On top of that, the "Bat-Family" will be playable, it seems. This typically refers to the likes of Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood, and would track with the idea that the game is called Gotham Knights. In the comics, this term is typically a reference to Batman's caped cohorts.

Finally, Walsh teases "connections to other games", though it's not entirely clear what that means. It could be that it takes place in Rocksteady's Arkham universe, or it could be that it'll be connected to the rumoured Suicide Squad game, which is also set to be revealed in August.

I'll be honest, this all sounds to be very much My Jam. I love Batman, I love the Bat-Fam, and I can't wait to see what WB. Montreal has been working on.
