Gina Carano Breaks Silence After Being Fired From 'The Mandalorian'

Gina Carano, who previously played Cara Dune on Disney Plus's hit series, The Mandalorian was fired from the role this past week. Following a series of controversial comments, including comparing the treatment of her political opinions to the Jews in Nazi Germany, promoting anti-mask theories, and mocking pronouns, the actress was released from working on the Disney series. Lucasfilm says it has no intention of working with Carano in the future.

Now, after the news has settled, Carano has spoken out about her next steps, which somehow includes Ben Shapiro and conservative platform he co-founded The Daily Wire. Shapiro is similarly known for conservative opinions on the internet but is equally notorious for the left-wing jokes made about him. Perhaps the most famous clip you might have seen is YouTuber HBomberguy pointing out a flaw in Shaprio's thoughts on rising sea levels.

Now, announced through Deadline, Carano and Shapiro are coming together on a new collaborative film project. According to the outlet, Carano says, "The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams - to develop and produce my own film - come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered. I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can't cancel us if we don't let them."

This project will be produced by Carano, as well as starring the actress, and will be released to The Daily Wire members exclusively.

Shapiro has also come forward to offer comments on his excitement for the new project after Carano, "[offended] the authoritarian Hollywood Left". "We're eager to bring Gina's talent to Americans who love her," he continues, "and we're just as eager to show Hollywood that if they want to keep cancelling those who think differently, they'll just be helping us build the Xwing to take down their Death Star".

Outside of official comments, Carano has also taken to Twitter and Instagram with posts saying "This is just the beginning... welcome to the rebellion". We're not exactly sure how this is considered a rebellion, but it's likely just language designed to get a group riled up to support the actress and her opinions.

Carano and Shapiro have not yet announced the name of the production, but since it's still a very new process we're not expecting to see whatever it is for a little while.
