The first gameplay footage of the upcoming Battlefield Mobile spinoff has started doing the rounds online, showing off a classic map and mode.
Footage started circulating earlier today following the launch of the game's alpha test. Select Android users in Indonesia and the Philippines can currently play the game, and new regions are being added at a later date.
As you can see below, the alpha currently only offers one map: Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar. In terms of modes, the long-running fan-favourite Conquest is the only playable one at present. Still, Battlefield Mobile is looking pretty slick for an alpha. It definitely looks like developer Industrial Toys has managed to capture the essence of the franchise and stick it on mobile.

"Once the game becomes available in your region, you'll be able to pre-register for it on your local Google Play Store page, and you'll be informed automatically when the play testing opens up in your area," an EA community manager explained recently.
"Testing slots are limited, so those who pre-register aren't guaranteed access to play testing, but you will be notified of later releases. Please note that this test is invitation only with a server registration limit on a first come first serve basis."

Battlefield Mobile.was announced earlier this year. It's being developed by Industrial Toys with close input from DICE. The game is currently expected to launch properly next year, and is a completely separate experience to the incoming Battlefield 2042.
"Make no mistake, this is a standalone game," DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson explained at the time. "A completely different game from the one we're making for console and PC, designed specifically for the mobile platform. It's being built from the ground up by iToys to make Battlefield-on-the-go a reality and you can expect a fully-fledged, skill-based experience. This mobile game is now entering a testing period ahead of launching next year, so expect more details to come."
For now, look forward to Battlefield 2042 when it launches on consoles and PC November 19.
