Well, we probably should have seen that coming. With less than a week to go before the end of Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 2, what appears to be a trailer for the battle royale's incoming third season has leaked online.

There's no telling how long this trailer will remain up before Activision takes it down (it's also currently here), but it does seem to once again confirm what we've all suspected for a long time. Specifically, that Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 3 will replace the current Verdansk map with version set in the 1980s. This tracks with previous leaked images that seemed to confirm the next season of the battle royale will be closer in style and tone to Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

According to these earlier leaks, many of Verdansk's landmarks will undergo surprising changes. The Stadium, for example, will still be under construction., Meanwhile, we can also expect plenty of new additions and surprises, including a creepy mineshaft and a massive Duga radar station to explore.

And what of Verdansk as we know it? You probably already know the answer. Activision and Raven Software have been teasing a map-ending event in Call Of Duty: Warzone for months now. In fact, a recent teaser video confirmed that this climatic event is now mere days away, and it's almost certainly going to end with a bang.

Since the start of Warzone's second season, zombies have slowly been taking over the entire map, and leaked voice lines have suggested that the fictional military have decided the best way to deal with this is to drop a nuke on Verdansk and wipe the whole thing out.

"The end is near," read a tweet from the official Call of Duty Twitter account earlier this week, confirming that the in-game event will take place on April 21 at 8pm (UK time). Things are going to get messy, so be sure to stay tuned.
