'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Adding The Terminator And John McClane As Playable Operators

Welcome to the party, pals.

Call Of Duty: Warzone recently sent players back in time to a version of Verdansk set in 1984. Now, it looks like the battle royale is set to add several of the era's most iconic action stars as playable operators.

Last week we covered how the official Call Of Duty Twitter account dropped a tease that all but confirmed John Rambo would be headed to Verdansk soon. Activision has now strongly hinted that John McClane, the lead character of classic action adventure Die Hard and its many less-good sequels, is on the way too.

First, take a look at some of the funniest wins and fails in Call Of Duty!

The Call Of Duty Twitter account was a little less subtle with its McClane tease. Whereas it took one seriously dedicated fan to work out the Rambo hints, pretty much everybody knew what Activision was doing right away when it dropped a tweet - and a fake website! - for Nakatomi Duct Cleaning. This, of course, is a direct reference to the original Die Hard and the vents of Nakatomi Plaza that the shoe-less McClane became so well acquainted with.

While Rambo and McClane are the only two that have been teased, reliable Call Of Duty leaker Tom Henderson has claimed there are more 80's action stars yet to come. Over on Twitter, he shared a link to the main theme from The Terminator along with the caption "#Warzone", very much hinting that the fearsome robot will also be joining the fray.

We've yet to see any of these 80's icons actually appear in the battle royale just yet. It's likely they'll make their way to the game as part of a mid-season update, which would be just a few week's time from now.

This wouldn't be the first time Warzone has added in characters from other franchises either. Last Halloween, players were able to purchase a number of cosmetic bundles that included playable versions of Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Jigsaw from SAWSAW.
