Brendan Fraser's much-loved and widely celebrated career comeback is showing no signs of slowing down. The star of classic adventure movies like The Mummy and George Of The Jungle has slowly been making his way back onto our screens in a big way of late... and we learned along the way that he never truly left our hearts.

For the past few years Fraser has been impressing audiences as Robotman in DC's wonderful Doom Patrol series. Since then, he's landed a handful of fantastic roles. It was announced last month that he'll be joining the cast of Martin Scorsese's Apple TV movie Killers Of The Flower Moon, and Max Barbakow's Brothers, two high-profile projects that he's clearly super excited about.

Check out Fraser in The Mummy below. Just a masterclass in how to exude swashbuckling adventure star energy:

Now, it's been confirmed that Fraser is taking on a leading role in a brand-new upcoming action series from The CW. As reported by AV Club, Fraser will star in Professionals alongside Tom Welling and Elena Anaya.

A press release shared by The CW reveals that Welling, who you may remember as Clark Kent in Smallville, plays a security operative who works to protect the rich and powerful and stops at nothing to achieve results. Fraser plays an Elon Musk-style rocket designer and billionaire genius, who hires Welling's character to investigate sabotage within his company.

I never would've pegged Fraser to play anyone even remotely like Elon Musk to be honest, if only because one is perhaps the most likable man on the planet and... well, the other is Elon Musk. Still, Fraser is a damn fine actor and it'll be interesting to see him in a different kind of role.

The CW has yet to announce a premiere date for Professionals yet, but all you Brendan Fraser stans out there will probably want to keep an eye on this one. The Brenaissance rides ever onwards.
