Ubisoft has big plans for Assassin's Creed Valhalla in 2022. The latest game in the popular historical adventure series was originally only supposed to have two major DLC expansions: Wrath Of The Druids, which launched a few months ago, and Siege Of Paris, which drops in just a few weeks.

However, during E3 2021, Ubisoft revealed that it intends to release more story content for Valhalla next year. That all starts with a trip to the fiery realm of Muspelheim in early 2022.

We don't know exactly what new adventures Ubisoft has in store for our Viking hero Eivor, but a recent leak suggests that a familiar face from previous games is set to make a return at some point. At this point I should stress that if you want to maintain what could be a potentially big surprise, you might want to stop reading here. Seriously. Stop. Okay? Let's move on.

According to well-known and frequently reliable Assassin's Creed leaker J0nathan, Kassandra will appear in Assasssin's Creed Valhalla as part of a DLC quest. Kassandra was, of course, the canonical protagonist of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Some of you may be wondering how a character we last saw running around Ancient Greece could be on holiday in England hundreds and hundreds of years later, which is a fair thing to wonder. The few fans who actually finished Odyssey and its DLC will know that Kassandra ends the game with the Staff of Hermes, granting her immortality. We also know that Kassandra lives long enough to meet Layla Hassan in the modern day, so it makes perfect sense that she could be around during Eivor's time (as much as these games ever make sense).

In a recent video, J0nathan claims that he's uncovered dialogue in the files of Valhalla that point to a quest in which Eivor meets Kassandra on Skye Island. Not much more information is given, but it sounds like the two will work together to track down a number of keys to an ancient artefact - maybe the door to Musphelheim? We'll have to wait and see.

It's unclear if this quest will be part of the Siege Of Paris expansion or if Ubisoft is currently working on it as part of the game's 2022 content. For now, take this with a pinch of salt. Just because the dialogue is hiding in the game now doesn't mean it won't be cut for whatever reason.
