Gamers Are All Saying The Same Thing After 'Starfield' Gameplay Reveal

Khajiit has space, if you have coin.

Bethesda’s ambitious space-em-up Starfield finally had legitimate gameplay revealed yesterday during the Xbox and Bethesda not-E3-but-sort-of-E3 showcase and it’s safe to say, it’s looking pretty great.

There was alas a little bit of sad news to go alongside the gameplay, and it’s that Starfield is going to be delayed by just a little bit. “The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure you receive the best, most polished versions of them,” announced the developer. There’s no firm release date for the game, other than an early 2023 release window.

Until now, most fans have been referring to what we’ve seen from Starfield as simply ‘Skyrim in space’, which to be fair, would be bloody brilliant. But since the reveal, it’s taken on a brand new alias - No Man’s Skyrim. This, of course, is in reference to Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky and the fact that Starfield looks… a lot like the game. There’s no two ways around it.

In a post to the r/gaming subreddit, user JardsonJean summed up the community feelings by pointing out the No Man’s Skyrim thing, and currently just over 60 thousand other people seem to agree with them.

Naturally, the comments on the post had a lot of fun with the idea. “Ever been to the Cloud Nebula? No, of course you haven't,” quipped obiwankanosey in reference to the famous line spoken in Skyrim by Nazeem. My favourite of the innumerable puns is definitely by Licorice_Devourer who simply says “Khajiit has space, if you have coin.” Perfect.

As mentioned, Starfield will be making its way to PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series X in early 2023.
