First 'House Of The Dragon' Reviews Are All Saying The Same Thing

We finally know what critics think of Game of Thrones' upcoming spin-off House Of The Dragon.

It’s been three years since Game of Thrones drew to a close and even if you weren’t keen on the series’ final season, I bet you still miss it. There was something quite unique about the collective hype we all felt week after week. The theorising, the watch parties, the ‘don’t tell me I haven’t watched the episode yet’ panicked declarations … good times. Well, we’re just days away from the release of House Of The Dragon and according to critics, the spin-off is just as good as Thrones’ glory days.

Check out the trailer for House Of The Dragon below ahead of the show’s 21 August premiere.

Initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive. As if I wasn’t already excited enough for this show. TheJessieWoo wrote, “House Of The Dragon is WILD. It doesn’t start off slow like Game of Thrones. They choose violence early. Gird your loins,” whilst OwenGough added, “Don’t worry guys. First episode was a banger.”

AlisonBoshoff said, “Masses of blood, bonking and dragons. No spoilers, but terrific.” Yeah, that sounds like a Game of Thrones successor. Alex Flood added that the show is “more akin to early Thrones,” and the “dragons look stunning” whilst “emotional scenes hit really hard,” summing the series up as “a pleasant surprise after season eight.”

Steve May said, “House of The Dragon really wowed me. Important takeaway: This is prime Game of Thrones. The opener does a great job of introducing a whole new cast of characters. The world is familiar, but still shocking. It’s good to be back.” Tufayel wrote, “I need the rest of the episodes hooked to my veins ASAP.”

Grant Tucker simply stated, “House Of The Dragon is EPIC. Arguably better than Game of Thrones.” I bet you’ll be tuning in after reading all of that.
