Far Cry 6 Game Of The Year Edition is stupidly expensive

Far Cry 6 Game Of The Year Edition is stupidly expensive

The Far Cry 6 Game Of The Year Edition has a hefty price tag for a game that wasn't actually nominated for Game Of The Year.

Far Cry 6 didn’t exactly get the awards reception it was perhaps hoping for. No doubt, Ubisoft were counting on the title making The Game Awards’ Game Of The Year contention list, but that select group was made up of It Takes Two, Deathloop, Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Resident Evil Village. No Far Cry 6 to be seen.

That may explain why the newly discovered Far Cry 6 Game Of The Year Edition hasn’t been officially unveiled, instead quietly popping up for sale.

Speaking of Ubi, check out the new trailer for Assassin's Creed Mirage.

It’s a fact that has to be pointed out. Rather savagely, Far Cry 6 failed to actually land a single GOTY nomination. Still, you can now buy the GOTY Edition and as is typically the case with these types of releases, it comes with new content: The Lost Between Worlds expansion.

There is one problem though. The Far Cry 6 GOTY Edition comes with a hefty price tag. Digital listings on the PlayStation and Xbox stores show that the game will set you back £99.99 / $119.99. If you already own Far Cry 6, the upgrade is priced at $59.99. That’s not a cheap expansion at all.

The Lost Between Worlds expansion is “coming soon,” with further details as-yet unavailable. The GOTY Edition also includes all season pass content, Far Cry 3 Dragon Classic Edition, the Ultimate pack (which includes Jungle Expedition pack, the Croc Hunter pack, and the Vice pack), plus all game updates. The Lost Between Worlds expansion is going to have to be pretty impressive to convince fans to part with this much money.
