Fallout takes players to Atlantic City in massive new adventure coming this year

With Fallout 76 going from strength to strength in recent years despite a rocky start, it has even more in store for players with Fallout 76: Atlantic City coming later this year.

First released in 2018, Fallout 76 was one of Bethesda’s most controversial titles as a result of its less than compelling single-player story and the studio not having the most experience with the MMO genre. Add in a bunch of game-breaking bugs and glitches and the whole experience was less than enjoyable for players. Luckily, Bethesda has put in the work and Fallout 76 has become a respected game in recent years even going as far as to rate higher than Starfield in the Steam charts.

Despite the recent news that Xbox boss Phil Spencer almost pulled the plug on Fallout 76, Bethesda is not giving up on the title and now it has announced the next Fallout expansion arriving this December. Titled Fallout 76: Atlantic City, this will be the game’s second expansion (known as Expeditions) following The Pitt which was released last September. Atlantic City will be released through two waves of updates with the first, Boardwalk Paradise, launching on 5 December 2023. It will be followed by America’s Playground which is yet to receive a release date.

With the first Expedition taking place in Pittsburgh, known as The Pitt, the second will take place, you guessed it, Atlantic City. Compared to previous locations in Fallout 76, Atlantic City is a lot classier with interactive casinos and the standard new factions, monsters, missions and rewards that come with a new expansion.

The first update, Boardwalk Paradise is heading to the Public Test Server on 3 October, giving players the opportunity to sample it via Steam. Although it is yet to be confirmed, we can assume this will also be the case when America’s Playground releases.
